Mr. Cheah Yeap Pong is the main founder and the Managing Director of our Group. With approximately 25 years of experience in the trading, processing and manufacturing of ferrous and non ferrous metal from recycled scrap, he has been instrumental in the success, growth and development of our Group. The history of our Group can be traced back to early 1980s with the establishment of Cheah Enterprise, a sole proprietorship. The initial business activities of the sole proprietorship were in trading and processing ferrous, non ferrous metal scrap and plastic scrap.

YPC Group of companies (“Group”) consists of Y.P. Cheah Enterprise (M) Sdn. Bhd. (“YPCE”), Twinkle Metal (M) Sdn. Bhd. (“TM”), YPC Realty Sdn. Bhd. (“YPC Realty”), YPC Aluminium Industries (M) Sdn. Bhd. (“YPC Aluminium”), YPC Plastic Industries (M) Sdn. Bhd. (“YPC Plastic”) and YPC Smelting Industries (M) Sdn. Bhd. (“YPC Smelting”). The Group were incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act, 1965.

The Group principal activities are involved manufacturing of high to medium grade copper and aluminium flakes from recycled scrap copper and aluminium cable and wire and also involved in the trading and processing of various ferrous and non ferrous metals. Our other secondary business activities include investment holding and property management.

Principal Activities



We expanded by established YPCE in 2002. YPCE was incorporated to take over the trading activities of Cheah Enterprise. In 2004, as part of our Group’s expansion plans, YPCE take over a plant located in Prai Industrial Estate and ventured into the manufacturing of high to medium grade copper and aluminium flake.



In 2005, TM together with its plant located in Prai Industries Estate was bring into the Group and take over the trading activities of YPCE as dealer of all types of scraps.

In 2007, YPC Realty was established to manage the real properties of the Group and property development activities within the Group. In the same year, YPC Aluminium was incorporated to operate the manufacturing activities of aluminium scrap.

In 2008, YPC Plastic and YPC Smelting were incorporated. The intended principal activities of these two newly incorporated companies were manufacturing of plastic scrap and smelting activities of various industrial scraps.


As part of our Group’s strategy to extend our geographical marketing and materials sourcing coverage, YPCE have established a strong marketing and materials sourcing network through our KL factory plant and JB branch office which are strategically located in centre and southern of peninsular Malaysia.


To date, the Group has more than 10 units of lorry fleet include 2 units trailer and 5 units of six wheel lorry to meet our Group transportation needs.
